(18 May 2022) ActivePort Group is pleased to announce it has begun a new strategic agreement with Lightstorm Telecom, India’s first carrier-neutral network infrastructure platform.

The initial project is to deliver ActivePort’s Management and Orchestration (MANO) software for Lightstorm to manage their cloud and network services and provide SD-WAN services to their customers. Total project value expected to exceed AUD $1 million.

Lightstorm is building a utility-grade fibre network, called SmartNet, connecting all of the major economic hubs in India via 45+ data centres. ActivePort’s software adds real-time provisioning and customer self-service to Lightstorm’s SmartNet network, giving Lightstorm a significant advantage in the telecommunications market.

Lightstorm’s strategy is at the forefront of network and Cloud innovation and their selection of ActivePort to deliver customer-facing services highlights ActivePort’s capability as an enterprise-grade orchestration solution for telecommunications leaders. LightStorm’s advanced approach requires ActivePort’s unique software to manage networks, cloud and customer services all from one single pane of glass.

Instead of using multiple software and networking providers, Lightstorm will use ActivePort’s solutions to orchestrate and integrate Nokia Core switches, overlayed by a Juniper Software Defined Network (SDN) and the addition of ActivePort’s SD-WAN 2.0 at the customer edge.

The adoption of ActivePort’s orchestration solution will reduce operational costs and complexity as the company works to roll out India’s first cloud connectivity infrastructure. The combination of ActivePort’s orchestration and SD-WAN solution gives Lightstorm real-time visibility and control of their customers’ network – providing a significant advantage in the global telecommunications market.

Karim Nejaim, ActivePort CEO, commented:

With Lightstorm we are helping build the new generation of global networking capability in the world’s second largest telecommunications market of over 1.18 billion subscribers and growing. ActivePort’s software platform was built for the telecommunications industry, providing self service solutions that reduce operational costs, drive efficiency, and provide world-class edge-to-Cloud network capability. We are proud that Lightstorm has chosen ActivePort and excited to be working with an innovative network operator in such a dynamic market.

Amajit Gupta, Lightstorm CEO, said:

Lightstorm has taken everything about networking infrastructure from fibre, network & architecture and completely re-engineered it to serve a world powered by Cloud and digital experience – one that requires 100 percent uptime, shortest latency, and control in the hands of the customer. ActivePort is the only company offering an all-in-one solution that supports our vision of a carrier-neutral and vendor agnostic network. In addition, ActivePort’s orchestration management and single-pane-of-view portal helps us realise our vision of building a software-defined automated network that allows world-class customer self-service for our network and cloud services.”
